IPIEC Global 2017 Korean Session successfully held in Seoul, Korea on September 18-20, 2017
Jointly organized with 中韩联创, IPlSCENTER and THEIPARTNERS, WTOIP’s 1st IPIEC Global 2017 Korean Session, as part of the Korean VR Festival (KVRF) 2017, was a success with top 3 projects unveiled after fierce competition and careful assessment conducted by our panel judges, which are:
1. Darim - VR Livestream
2. Victoria - AR Education
3. GC - VR Industrial Electronic Device and VTS (Vessel Traffic System)
Live project presentations were delivered on stage by their representatives, who are mainly from innovation and technology companies and research institutes in Korea, followed by interactive Q&A session between contestants and judging panel which was formed by investors from major venture capitals from Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, India etc.
After the showcase on the stage as well as the communication chances off the stage, dozens of Korean VR projects successfully connected to their partners with intended cooperation established and signed on-site, which was one of the highlights at KVRF where vast VR and AR resources, experts and investors can be gathered and matched systematically.
According to the set rules, top 3 contestants will be qualified for the Semi-final Contest to be held in early December, 2017 in Guangzhou, China. During their trip to China, they will also join the other top 27 contestants from the rest of the world to participate the International Innovation Workshop, where local business visits will be organized for contestants to meet top-tier Chinese enterprises and industrial clusters, for their better understanding of the business environment in China and the business model that suits the China market. Besides, seminars given by investors and entrepreneurs from renowned enterprises and government officials will also be arranged in the Workshop program where contestants can gain valuable information, knowledge and insights on entrepreneurship and intellectual property with a focus on the China market. The Workshop program will serve as a compelling opportunity for overseas contestants to directly communicate with top Chinese entrepreneurs so as to bridge the innovations and strengthen the cooperation between China and the world.
According to the event organizer, many Korean VR exhibitors are positive on the China market and cooperation with Chinese investors. Some of the VR projects are even specifically tailored to suit Chinese customers.
Korea IT Industry Promotion Agency (KIPA), as the official event organizer, added that they are looking forward to strengthening the cooperation with Guangdong Government and establishing long-term cooperation with WTOIP.
Highlights of IPIEC Global 2017
Multimillion-Dollar Tech Funding & Grand Cash Prize
Top-tier Chinese enterprises will provide specific tech demands related to their industry sectors, and reward satisfactory and qualified technologies with funding valued at over USD$24,000,000 (with IP protection). Grand cash prize totaling USD$170,000 will also be granted to our winners at the final contest.
Government incentives including but not limited to office space, financing, taxation, and business administrative support will be provided for outstanding projects, thanks to China’s innovation-nurturing environment.
IP Planning and Project Implementation Support
Semi-finalists will receive China IP planning and project implementation services. They can also benefit from project matchmaking services and ongoing online promotion opportunities from WTOIP’s channels.
