Guided by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and organized by China Centre for Promotion of SME Development (China International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Information Center, WTOIP, and Chamber of Commerce of Guangzhou Industrial Parks with substantial supports from Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province and Industry and Information Technology Commission of Guangzhou Municipality, IPIEC GLOBAL 2018 aims to promote global technological advancement and to realize innovation commercialization so as to facilitate the upgrading and transformation of domestic industries and the collaboration of emerging industries.
WTOIP Bridges Global Innovation Resources for Matchmaking
Boon Xuhui Xie, Chairman & CEO of WTOIP, delivered an opening address at the ceremony. He noted that WTOIP is a leading IP and entrepreneurial resource sharing platform for sharing and commercializing global knowledge resources. IPIEC GLOBAL 2017 gained concrete supports from consulate generals and innovation institutes from over 20 countries. Top enterprises in China raised their technology demands with total funding valued over USD$23,000,000. Overseas contests were organized in the US, UK, Germany, Israel, South Korea, Russia and Iran, attracting more than 830 overseas candidates to submit their projects for participation and bringing tremendous outcomes: 85 projects were recommended to leading enterprises for matching; 15 cooperation intentions were achieved; 11 projects intended for entering cooperation; 8 projects entered into cooperation during final contest. The contest has served an effective measure to promote global technology transfer and innovation commercialization.
WTOIP Ignites Passions for Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The contest will boost the collaboration of top-notch technologies and facilitate the synergy derived from integration of industries, research and academics.
IPIEC GLOBAL 2018 is upgraded in an all round way which features expanded scope and influence, brand new model, comprehensive support and enhanced services offered. Originated from Guangzhou, number of preliminary contests will increase from 7 to 10, covering the US, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Israel, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Hence technologies can be sourced within a largely expanded scope. On the other hand, technology demand collection has been expanded from local top enterprises to industrial parks, Sino-Foreign cooperation zones and leading enterprises across China. Industrial parks and Sino-Foreign cooperation zones will release preferential policies and provide entrepreneurial resources to support tech launch in China while leading enterprises will offer grand funding.
Overseas technologies and talents can also gain benefit from the renewed China Entrepreneurial Service Pack, which covers IP planning, financing and pitching and links up the matching among top tier enterprises, upstream and downstream industries and local government incentives with provision of one-stop services, in hopes of accelerating technology transfer and commercialization in China.
Accreditation for Strategic Cooperation with Industrial Parks

Representatives of foreign governments and innovation institutes in Guangzhou were invited to the panel discussion themed “Innovation Dialogue Based on the Belt and Road Initiative” to share their insights on the innovation development in their countries and cooperation with China, as well as how to further promote bilateral collaboration with China via IPIEC GLOBAL 2018. Prof. Claudio Boe, Senior Consultant of Sino-Swiss Center, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Guangzhou, Dr. Maxim Shvedov, China representative of Tomsk State Government of Russia, Mr. Amir Ghorbanali, Director of Iran Nanotech China Center, Ms. Katja Schlaung, Key Account Manager of AHK Consulting, and Mr. Zhengwu Tian, Co-founder of Israel Commerce Union took active parts in the discussion.
