The Grand Final of IPIEC GLOBAL 2018 was successfully concluded at Guangzhou Baiyun Hotel on December 13!
Boon XIE, Chairman and CEO of WTOIP, represented the Organizing Committee of IPIEC GLOBAL 2018 to deliver a welcome speech. Distinguished government leaders were invited to witness and support this grand event, and they are: YE Dingda, Deputy Director of SME Bureau of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC; GAO Yuyue, Deputy Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Government, who also gave their addresses to convey their support and recognition to the event as well as Guangzhou, a nurturing land for global innovators and entrepreneurs as a hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Following the addresses, letters of intent for cooperation were signed on stage between contestants and local Chinese enterprises. The accumulated no. of letters of intent signed throughout the round-trip project roadshow in China has reached to 86, generating numerous potential business leads and opportunities for the team of Global Top 30!
Global Top 10 were competing fiercely for their honors in the final competition. Each contestant was given 10 minutes to present their innovation projects, which consisted of: 3-min video project introduction, 2-min third party endorsement video, 2-min contestant presentation and 3-min Q&A session with judges. Judges assessed and scored each project upon completion from multiple perspectives including market prospect, innovation viability, team member, capitalization capability etc.

Based on each contestant’s prepared materials and live performance, as well as judges’ careful assessment, Global Top 3 were decided:
Global Champion: Novus Life Science (Hong Kong, China)
Second Place: Oaklabs (Germany)
Third Place: Nanopac (Malaysia)
The “Internet Popularity Award” based on the online poll taking place during the past fortnight on the official contest website went to Boston Biochip (USA).
The “Most Popular Matchmaking Project” went to Unifi.id (UK) and Maeko (Malaysia), who have successfully acquired most cooperation intentions with Chinese enterprises during the round-trip roadshow in China.
