July 24, 2018, Guangzhou, China - The Korea-China VR/AR Tech Roadshow was successfully held in Shenzhen and Guangzhou respectively on July 23rd and 24th. Organized and co-organized by WTOIP, Korea National IT Promotion Agency, Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Korea VR/AR Industry Association and Shenzhen VR Industry Association, this tech roadshow is a cross-border matchmaking event aiming at promoting the development of Korea-China VR/AR industry and attracting advanced technologies and talents by various innovative forms such as business visit, project roadshow as well as project matchmaking.
As part of the IPIEC GLOBAL 2018 Korean Chapter series activities, 12 VR/AR technologies from South Korea were showcased by the representatives of each organization after coming all the way to China. Tech matchmaking events were also hosted after project roadshow in both cities, attracting reputed companies and start-ups in VR/AR industry from China to participate and explore cross-border cooperation on technology.
After the successful conclusion of its Shenzhen session, the 2018 Korea-China VR/AR Tech Roadshow organized by NIPA, ETRI and WTOIP landed in Guangzhou on July 24th, where industry experts, innovators, entrepreneurs and investors from China and Korea were gathered together for cross-border technology and innovation exchange and cooperation.
Before kicking-off the event, WTOIP, Korea National IT Promotion Agency (NIPA) and Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) entered into a long-term strategic partnership, and mutually agreed to co-forge a matchmaking platform for China-Korea VR/AR technologies so as to form a strong and in-depth cooperation on tech matchmaking and resource sharing, and promote the development, application and standardization of VR/AR tech in both countries.
Experts from VR industry in China and Korea, including Mr. LEE, JAEHO, Principal Researcher of ETRI, Mr. JUNG, WOOCHAE, Director of KoVRA, Prof. PAN, ZHIGENG, Dean of NINED Virtual Reality Research Institute, Ms. YAN, JIE, Deputy GM of Leahong CCIFP, and Ms. LI, XIN, Senior Copyright Researcher of WTOIP, generously shared their insights on latest VR/AR technologies and market trend, application scenario and related copyright protection to the audience, including entrepreneurs and investors from the industry.
Brought all the way from Korea, 12 VR/AR technologies were subsequently presented to the audience, followed by the tech matchmaking session arranged on site. Technologies gained positive feedback from the industry in China, who indicated strong interests in further cooperation and were keen to explore attainable cooperation model. Many Chinese attendees reckoned this event a fruitful one for their better understanding the cutting-edge VR/AR tech and seeking potential and reliable VR business partners.
