Dr. Jean S. Mason, PhD (McGill 2000) is Associate Dean, Faculty and Student Affairs, Faculty of Communication and Design. She is also an Associate Professor in the School of Professional Communication, and a faculty member of the joint Ryerson-York graduate program in Communication and Culture. Her current research focuses on health/illness narratives (pathographies). She was recently awarded “most outstanding article published in 2014 in the Journal of American Culture” for her article, “Two Women Chronicle the White Plague: A ‘Herstory’ of America’s Magic Mountain.”
She is a faculty member of the joint Ryerson-York graduate program in Communication and Culture, and served as Graduate Program Director of Ryerson’s Master of Professional Communication from 2009-2012.
